A lovely evening

22 Jun

DS Sean and his SO came over last night, and we watched Harry Potter. Afterwards they hung out and we talked until 2 am. It was great to see them – I hadn’t realized how much I missed them. He was in a car accident yesterday – some woman rear-ended him, completely mashing in his trunk. His car is still drive-able, but it’ll be totalled (a 1989 Honda Accord).

Yesterday was guild, and the Scarf Exchange! My silver-grey Romney/mohair fiber was handspindled and knit into a beautiful 10″ x 48″ basketweave scarf. I spun the fiber I recieved (green/multi merino) into a soft 2-ply, and knit a 6″ x 8′ mistake-stitch scarf. Mistake stitch was the theme of the day – there were 2 others, as well as several gorgeous lace knit, and at least one woven scarf.

I also picked up a Jumbo flyer head & bobbins for my Ashford wheel. That seals it – I’m not going to sell that wheel. Someday, when I have a fiber studio, it’ll be great to have two wheels available. In the meantime, Lisa’s using it. Anyway, I waxed the flyer & bobbins, and will use it to ply my next skein of lambswool/cashmere. I love big skeins!
